a) Prejudice is to believe that some people are inferior or superior without even knowing them.
b) It is wrong to deny women equal rights in religion because (1) as a Christian, I believe that man and woman stand together and side by side before God as equals. Every person is endowed with their own special qualities which make us all unique and valuable. (2) In addition I also think that to deny a woman equal rights in religion is to be patronising and bullying and this in itself is fundamentally wrong.
The Essay on Different Reasons People Comunicate
There are lots of reasons why people communicate at work. For example, to share ideas and thoughts, to express needs and feelings, to socialise, to gain and share information, to build relationship and to maintain relationship, to understand and to be understood and to receive instructions, to give encouragement and show others that we care. In order to work effectively with children and their ...
c) Traditional Protestant Christians teaches that Men and women have separate and different roles. Women bring up children and run a Christian home; they must not speak in church and must submit to their husbands. Some say women should cover their heads in church. Men should provide for their family and lead the family in religion and only they can be church leaders and teachers. They think this because: In the Bible St Paul says women should not teach/speak in church, the Bible says Adam was created first and point out that Jesus’ ‘Twelve Disciples’ were men. Modern Protestant Christians teaches that men and women are equal and should therefore have equal rights, including being allowed to be ministers and priests. They think this because, in the Bible it says male and female were created at the same time and equally, St Paul said there is neither male nor female in Christ and Jesus treated women as his equals, in fact it was women who stayed with Jesus in the cross, unlike the male disciples who ran away and it was to women that Jesus first appeared after his resurrection. Finally, there is evidence that there may have been women priests in the early church. Roman Catholics teach that men and women should have equal roles in life and society and that both men and women should be able to study and teach theology. However, women can give out the bread at communion but not bless it and only men can become priests. They teach this because; in the Bible it says male and female were created at the same time and equally. However only men are allowed to be priests as, all twelve of Jesus’s disciples were men and priests are successors to them. Finally, Jesus was a man and the priest represents Jesus in the mass (Communion/bread and wine)
d I think women should have equal roles in religion because (1) in the Bible, Jesus is seen time and again mixing with women and treating them as His equals Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna and many other women were part of Jesus’s inner circle, which shows the high regard he had for them; Jesus did not see women as being weaker or less capable than men. The fact that He selected only men to make up His team of “Twelve Disciples” is immaterial; in the culture of the day, women travelling with men they were not married to would cause great criticism and would get in the way of Jesus’s teaching. (2) Since 1992 the Church of England have allowed women to become vicars and they and they have brought a lot of new things to the job and have proved to as successful as men in this role (3) Finally, I disagree with the tradition of the Church that only men should have leadership roles. The Church must move with the times other wise it becomes irrelevant for people today.

I understand that there are many reasons why some people disagree with women having equal roles in religion. (1) They say that God made Adam first and then made Eve from Adam’s rib. This order of creation subordinates wives to their husbands in marriage and women to men in the church. Women are commanded to submit to both their husbands and to male leadership in the church and therefore are not allowed to teach or have authority over men in any formal capacity in the church. (2) Roman Catholics believe that during mass, there needs to be a “natural resemblance” between Christ and his minister; thus the minister must be a man. (3) Roman Catholics also feel that the priestly ministry goes against women’s character/ personality; the Inter Insigniores (a document on women’s ordination 1976) states the belief that “Men and women have different functions in God’s plan.” For this reason they would not fully support equal roles for men and women in religion.

The Supremacy of Faith, The Supremacy of Reason The history of science has long been in conflict with religion or! SSorganized ignorance!" as Dr. David Starr Jordan called in his book Science and Sciosophy. In this conflict history would reveal that science always prevailed. At times this victory was won at the cost and / or suffering of the individual who earth the nerve to present their finding ...
ii) Give reasons why some people may disagree with you. (3)
a) Interfaith marriage is where the husband and wife are from different religions.
b) I disagree that children should be free to choose their own religion because (1) religious parents know what is best for their children. I have been brought up as an exclusivist Christian and I believe that only we will go to heaven after we die. If I was converted to another faith, my parents would then be upset and have to worry that they would not see me after death. I think it would be wrong to upset my parents. (2)I also think it would be wrong for children to choose their own religion because if children did not stay in their faith, family and cultural traditions cannot be preserved, which I think is not a good thing.
c) Mixed faith marriages can cause problems because a religious ceremony may not be allowed due to the couples not being members of the same religion. Also there is the question of which faith the children of the marriage will be brought up in. Some religions insist on a child being brought up in their religion, for example Muslims. How can a couple decide on this? There could also be problems of what will happen after death. Will the couple have to be buried in separate places according to their religion? Finally, for the parents and relatives of the couple there is often the feeling that they have betrayed their roots and family by falling in love with someone from a different religion.
d) i) I agree that in a multi faith society religion should try to convert other people (1) I believe that Christianity is the only true religion and that all other religions are mistaken. Also (2) I believe that everyone should go to heaven but the only way to do this is for them to convert; so, I am trying to convert people out of good intention. (3) Lastly, holy books teach that it is right to convert others. In the Bible Jesus tells his disciples to make followers of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey all that Jesus had taught. This means that everyone must be converted to Christianity.
The Essay on What Do Women Want From Men
Where did all those romantic fellas go? With all that can be, all that is within us, romance lives forever! So why not take advantage of it. Did you ever look around and wonder why a woman will chose another man over you? Maybe you are more handsome, intelligent, richer and so much more than that other plain fellow what's his name. But he's romantic and obviously knows how to treat a woman and ...
ii) However, I can see why some people would disagree with this statement and try to convert people (1) because they think it is impossible to regard all other religions as wrong unless you have studied all of them and compared them to decide which one is true. They think it is very unlikely that those trying to convert others have done this.(2) In addition, some people think that trying to convert followers of other religions when living in a multi faith society is a type of prejudice and discrimination, saying that treating people differently because of their religion and trying to convert to other religions is discriminating against those who do not have the same faith as you.(3) Another argument is that trying to convert people within a multi faith society can lead to trouble. Being told your religion is wrong is very offensive and this could result in bad feeling and even violence

A sample essay on the UK as a multi-faith society
a) What does the term ‘Religious freedom’ mean? (2)
This term means having the right to practise your religion and change your religion.
b) Do you think it is a good idea to have a lot of different religions in one place? Give two reasons for your point of view.
I think it is a good thing to have a lot of different religions in one place because (1) people can learn about other religions from their friends and neighbours, and this can help them to see what religions have in common.
(2) Another reason why I think it is a good idea is because religious toleration and understanding will exist in a multi faith society and this may help to stop religious conflicts such as that between Protestant and Catholic Christians in Northern Ireland and between Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs in India.
c) Explain why the United Kingdom is often referred to as a multi – faith society.
The Essay on Women Men Stories Religions
AndrocentrismWhen I started to think about what to write for this paper I wanted to learn more about. Well, I guess I know what it means, but I wanted to see what it means to other people. In Random House Webster's Unabridged Dictionary 2 nd Edition the definition for is centered on emphasizing, or dominated by males or masculine interests. The United Kingdom is often referred to as a multi – faith society because there are people of many different faiths living in the UK. For example, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets has the highest percentage of Muslims of any UK council area at 36.4%. Leicester has the highest percentage of Hindus of any UK council area at 14.3% The London Borough of Barnet has the highest percentage of Jews of any UK council area at 14.3%.The London Borough of Westminster has the highest percentage of Buddhists of any UK council at 1.3%. In the London Borough of Hounslow, there are 110,657 Christians, 16,064 Hindus, 19,378 Muslims and 18,265 Sikhs In Birmingham 14.4 per cent of people are Muslim, 2.9 per cent are Sikh, 2 per cent are Buddhist and 0.24 per cent are Jewish. In Bradford 16 per cent of the population are Muslim, 1.1 per cent are Sikh and 0.9 per cent are Hindu and in Bradford 16% of the population are Muslim, 1.1% is Sikh and 0.9% is Hindu.
‘All societies should be multi faith societies’
i Do you agree? Give reasons for your opinion.
ii Give reasons why some people may disagree with you.
i I agree with this statement because (1) a multi faith society has many benefits, for instance people are likely to become a lot more understanding about each other’s religions and realise that everyone is entitled to their own opinion about religion.
(2) Another reason why I agree is because some people may think more about religion as they come across religious ideas they have never thought of before.
(3) The final reason why I agree with this statement is because people from different religions may practice their religion more seriously, for example Muslims praying five times a day, and this may make people think about how they practice their own religion.
ii Some people would disagree with this statement, however because (1) they think that follows of one religion might try to convert followers of other religions, which could lead to arguments and even violence when people are told their religion is wrong.
(2) I also think that children of other faiths who are educated in state schools will experience the secular nature of British life and might be tempted away from their religious lifestyles, which will be very upsetting for their parents.
The Essay on Revolution Women Men Society Began
Woman's Struggle for Independence Women have had to fight for there independence. They have been repressed for a long period of history. Only recently have women started to gain respect as equals and individuals. Even today women are still looked down upon for there sex. From the begging of history women have been viewed as a lesser sex. In the time Mesopotamia women we in charge of the children ...
(3) Finally, there is a chance of interfaith marriage in a multi-faith society and this can raise the problem of what will happen after death if the couple kept their own original faith. For instance, one of the partners might have to be buried in a Christian cemetery while the other is buried in a Jewish cemetery. This could be upsetting if they were not allowed to be buried together.

women have changed. 8
d) ‘Men and women should have equal roles in life’.
i Do you agree? Give reasons for your opinion. 3
ii Give reasons why some people may disagree with you. 3
a) Sexism is to discriminate against people because of their gender.
b) I think men should share housework with women because (1) with more and more women entering the workforce to build careers, men need to help with the general housework required to keep the home to operating efficiently. (2) Also, even if a woman does not go out to paid work I still think a man should help with housework; perhaps he could work on a chore with her. By doing so it will add to a relationship because it will keep the woman from being exhausted at the end of every day and will enable the couple to spend more time with each other, which should be a welcomed experience for both partners.
c) Women in the UK have always had the right to own property and earn their own living, but they did not have the same rights as men and when women married, their husbands had the right to use their property. During the second half of the nineteenth century it became the accepted view that married women should stay at home and look after the children (in 1850 about 50% of married women had been in employment, but by 1900 this was down to about 15%).
However, women began to fight to have equal rights with men and have succeeded in getting a number of laws passed which led to the growth of equal rights for women in the UK. For instance, the Married Women’s Property Act 1882 allowed married women to keep their property separate from their husbands. In 1892 The Local Government Act gave women the right to stand as councillors and then in 1918 the Representation of the People Act allowed women to vote in general elections, at the age of 30, although men could vote at the age of 21. In 1928 the Electoral Reform Act gave women the right to have equal voting rights to men and women were allowed to stand as MPs. In 1970 the Equal Pay Act gave women equal pay to men and later the Sex Discrimination Act made it illegal to discriminate in employment on grounds of gender or whether some one is married or not. In 2008 only 17% of men believe that a women’s place is to look after the home and family and a man’s job is to earn money.
d) I think men and women should have equal roles in life because (1) women achieve the same, or better, educational qualifications as men. In the 25-34 age groups, 20% of women and 22% of men have a university degree. This shows that women are just as able and intelligent as men and therefore can be trained to do identical or equivalent jobs to them. (2) In addition, I also feel that both the man and women are equally capable of combining employment with family responsibilities, such as domestic tasks and particularly the care of children. This is reflected by the fact that that in many places of employment a couple can choose whether the man or the women takes long term leave from work to look after the newly arrived baby. (3) With regard to the ‘Church’, I feel that men and women should have equal roles. In 1992 the Church of England allowed women to become vicars and they have proved to be very successful in deed..
Many people would not agree that men and women should have equal roles in life. (1) The Roman Catholic Church, for instance, whilst acknowledging that Jesus treated women with compassion and dignity, point out that His ‘Twelve Disciples’ were all men. This is one of the reasons why Roman Catholics impose ordination restrictions and refuse to allow women priests. (2) Some people disagree with the statement because they think that women going out to work results in the instability of the marriage structure; men feel emasculated and confused as the traditional roles of male independence and female dependency is reversed. This they say is likely to result in more cases of divorce. Finally, (3) some people feel that women should not be given equal roles to men in the work place, especially in regards to positions of responsibility based on the possibility that they might become pregnant and this would then become inconvenient for employers.
