Consider a place where the students want to learn, they know what is expected of them, they feel safe, they belong and they are able to easily access the resources they require.
The learning environment should be safe; all students regardless of the creed, color and culture need to feel at ease. Students need to belong and group work can be utilized in order to increase social interaction as well as collaboration as a learning strategy. The teacher should use positive and respective discipline techniques, encouraging students and encouraging self-belief. If the teacher can build personal relationships with the students, have an insight into their attitudes, beliefs and motivation, he will also gain their respect.
