Q.1. Read the following passage and answer the questions given below:
PARA – 1
“Human memory, formerly believed to be rather inefficient is really more sophisticated than that of a computer, Researchers approaching the issue from different points of view have all concluded that there is a great deal more stored in our minds than what is generally supposed.”
PARA – 2
“Dr. Wilder Pinfield, a Canadian neurosurgeon proved that by stimulating brain electrically he could elicit the total recall of specific events in his subjects lives. Even dreams and minor events supposedly forgotten for many year suddenly emerged in detail.”
PARA – 3
“The memory trace is the term for whatever is the internal representation of the specific information about the event stored in the memory. Assumed to have been made by the structural changes in the brain the memory trace is not subject to direct observation but is rather a theoretical concept that we use to speculate about how information presented at a particular time can cause performance at a later time. Most theories include the strength of the memory trace a variable in the degree of learning, retention and retrieval possible for a memory. One theory is that the fantastic capacity for storage in the brain is the result of an almost unlimited combination of interconnections between brain cells stimulated by patterns of activity. Repeated references to the same information supports recall or improved performance is the result of strengthening the chemical bonds in the memory.”
The Term Paper on Abducted by a UFO: prevalence information affects young children’s false memories for an implausible event

Forty-four 7–8 and forty-seven 11–12 year old children heard a true narrative about their first school day and a false narrative about either an implausible event (abducted by a UFO) or a plausible event (almost choking on a candy). Moreover, half of the children in each condition ...

Q.1. UNSEEN COMPREHENSION PASSAGE
Read the following passage and answer the questions given below: (15)
PARA-1: Reports on terrorist attacks seen to be an almost regular affair. The killing innocent men and women, ordinary passengers and peace-loving residents of an area, for example is testimony to barbarism that has taken bizarre forms today. An embassy is devastated by a car bomb, another car bomb obliterates a place of worship and different political and religious leaders are gunned by assassins.
PARA-2: Committing terrorism is equated with an achievement worthy of honour and many are scrambling to be the most militant.
PARA-3: True, terrorims generates terror but it can never serve a purpose. The terrorists do not want the restoration of normalcy or negotiations leading to peaceful settlement of issues. Acts of terrorism make rapprochement impossible.
PARA-4: Countries today have adopted counter-terrorist measures but terrorism continues to plague the world. As force begets force and action brings reaction, the aim should not be to avenge terrorism but to stop it. Of course doing nothing is a sure way to invite more atrocities. Therefore, all nations should act together to combat this international evil. For this the initiative should come from the U.N.O. Perhaps the effective intervention of the U.N.O and the strict implementation of international laws in force will enable the world to see the end of international terrorims.
