Art Project (1) Hannah Montana is pseudonym of Miley Cyrus, who plays in a new comedy series on Disney channel. Her first album, which was released in October of 2006, consists of 18 songs on 2 CD disks. Hannahs lyrics can be described in terms of pop music, even though that country influences are clearly present in her songs. (2) Hannahs album CD cover conveys a certain message. On it, we can see the picture of young girl who puts finger to her lips, as if she is about to tell us a big secret. The symbolism of CD cover becomes apparent, after we begin listening to Hannahs lyrics, because they are about the girl who leads a double life of pop star. In the background, there can be seen a stage lights, which also meant to emphasize the public aspect of Hannahs life.
(3) The theme of my design can also be described as revealing secret through the music. This is why I rely on colors dichotomy, in order to accomplish the full effect. That is telling the potential listener that he is about to experience singers other side of life. In its turn, this only gets to be revealed in her songs. (4) The picture of Hannah and her dad is depicted in black in white colors, which points out to the fact that singer is an ordinary girl. However, the acrylic paint, which is also used as part of CDs design, creates the effect of artistic misbalance. I believe that it helps to understand the essence of Hannas lyrics.
CDs back cover is painted in green. This is to emphasize Hannas young age. In addition, this is meant to suggest that Hannas talent will grow, as time goes by, because green is the color of spring, which is also associated with growth and maturing.
