Process Essay
Birthday Cake
Have you ever wanted to make a birthday cake for a loved one? I am going to guide you through all the necessary steps and procedures it will take to make the perfect birthday cake. All you are going to need is a little time, love and a few items from the grocery store. To start, you will need a boxed cake mix, (preferably the favorite flavor of the individual whose birthday is being celebrated), shortening, eggs, oil, flour and/or any other ingredients the recipe may call for. Most of all though, don’t forget the birthday candles (the number of candles needed, will depend on the age of the birthday individual).
When you get home, you will need to gather a few items: a large mixing bowl, a large cake pan (size to be explained in the recipe), an electric mixer or a large mixing spoon, a spatula, measuring cups and spoons. It is going to be a very intricate process, but in the end, the reward will definitely be worth it. Especially, when you get to see the face of the birthday boy/girl, who gets this handmade masterpiece presented to them on such a special day in their life and hey, you’ll even get to indulge in some of the cake as well!
First off, you will need to wash your hands and prepare a clean and sanitized work area. Thoroughly, read through all of the directions on the cake box to be absolutely sure you have everything that you are going to need to complete the cake making process. After that is done, gather all of your utensils and ingredients and arrange them in your work area so that you have everything visible and easily accessible. You are going to want to organize your supplies according to the order you are going to use them in your cake making process. Be sure to preheat your oven to the appropriate temperature as specified in the recipe before you begin preparing to make your birthday cake. It’s not in any of the recipes that I have come across yet, but I have found that having a friend to help assist always makes it more fun and interesting when making a cake in the kitchen. Having a friend to help make the cake usually ends up meaning the friend is there to help make more of a mess, so be sure to keep extra paper towels close by and handy as well. But don’t worry because they’ll be there to help with the dishes too.
The Essay on How to bake a cake and make frosting
There are many ways to bake a cake, also there are many steps following it. When I first baked a cake I thought it was going to be a difficult process. When I was younger, I first made a cake with my mother and after the first time I was able to make one all on my own. After, reading these steps you will be able to as well. Carefully read through the directions on the back of the cake box to be ...
Now that everything is ready and in place you can begin to combine your ingredients in order and as specified in the recipe. Start by pouring the dry cake mix into your large mixing bowl. Add the instructed amount of water as called for in the recipe. Continue with the oil and the eggs. Once everything is in the bowl, use either the electric mixer or mixing spoon and mix all of the ingredients together until it is smooth and free of clumps. You now are left with cake batter that will be poured into the pan and baked to make your cake. Cakes can be made or baked into different shapes and sizes depending on the type of cake that is needed based on the preference of the baker.
When your cake batter is ready and your oven is preheated, grease the large cake pan with shortening. If you wish, you can wrap your fingers with wax paper or a sandwich bag to keep them from getting greasy. After your pan is greased, lightly flour it. This will ensure that your cake does not stick to the pan and burn during the baking process. If you do this over the garbage can, you will minimize your mess and it will be easier to clean your work area later. Next, pour the cake batter into the cake pan, using a rubber spatula to scrape all the batter off of the inside of the bowl ensuring it all gets into your baking pan. Be sure to level off your cake batter in the pan so it will rise evenly. Your cake batter is now ready to be baked so place the cake pan on the top rack of the oven and bake for the specified amount of time as indicated on the box; the time is usually around thirty minutes. While the cake is baking, you can use this time to clean up your work area and prepare any type of toppings or frostings you may be using in your recipe. You may want to set a timer as to not burn the very precious cake you have now worked so hard to perfect.
The Essay on My First Time 2
It was the summer of 98, and my friends had just graduated high school, and we all decided to take a trip. Where to go we all thought? We were thinking where could we all have fun and not have any age requirements? So Cancun was the place to be, first thing I did when I got off the plane was transfer some money to some pesos. When I tried to get pesos the cashier tried to rip me off, but there was ...
When the time is done and the cake is ready, remove it from the oven. Be sure to use potholders as the cake and the pan are going to be extremely hot. To check and see if the cake has completely cooked through, you can push a toothpick through the cake to the bottom of the pan and if it comes out clean, it is done. Turn off the oven and place the cake pan on a heat resistant surface to let the cake cool. After the cake has had plenty of time to cool, it is ready to be frosted and decorated. If you use the spatula, rather than a knife, the icing will spread easier and the cake will be less likely to fall apart during frosting. Finally, after the cake has been frosted and decorated, place the appropriate number of candles on it (maybe even a few more as a practical joke), and then you are ready to present your simple, yet extravagant and elegant birthday cake.
