Tony Kytes story is a well written story it is told in a very clever type of way. It is told in third person perspective and is also told by a carrier with a horse and carriage telling his passenger the things that Tony got up to.
I think that the writer has tried to make the reader think that Tony is quite gullible and uses it to get women where he wants them. The writer is also trying to make you think that Tony is quite clever in his own ways, he can be talking about how much he likes them and then totally change the question ‘And can you say I’m not pretty Tony’ ‘now look at me!’ ‘He let his eyes rest upon her for along while. ‘I really can’t’ then as soon as they had that conversation he sees Milly just past the hedge and says that unity has to get under a tarpaulin in the back, so that there isn’t any unpleasantness. He is quite crafty in a way as he tells a girl that he loves them and trying to not let one of them hear that he loves the other one as well. Tony doesn’t always think with his head but with his libido.
Rudy
My first impressions of Rudy weren’t that bad I just thought that he was one of them men that are a bit full of them selves. I knew as soon as I started reading the story that he was full of confidence and didn’t embarrass easily. You can tell this by the text as it says ‘naturally the dames were all after me’ and how it says that he would just have to run his eyes up and down the women and one of them would come running over to him and sometimes two. I also thought to myself that he was one of the lads as well as a lady’s man as it says in the text ‘the usual game of banker in the cloakrooms with the lads’. Also in my first impression on Rudy was that he was very suave and glib, I thought this to myself because of how he talks to the beauty queens grandma which ends up getting him chucked out of the house. The way Rudy compares to Tony is that they are both good looking by the way the girls are all after them, and that they are both very smooth and that they are so smooth that it almost always gets them in to trouble. I think overall Rudy knows what is going on in girls head where as Tony just thinks with his libido and not with his head. Rudy is quite honest with himself but not with girls, he thinks that he is gods gift to women by the way he talks about women and that the dames were naturally after him. He is a very quick thinker and he responds in a very clever, way with not many words and sometimes none at all. If he wants to get rid of a girl he will just pass her over to his friend or give a warning signal to the leader of the band and he will cut the dance short. All in all Rudy doesn’t mean to be nasty to girls it’s just in his nature without him knowing.
The Essay on A Girl’s Story
The story “A Girl’s Story” by David Arnason is written in a modern perspective. It allows the author to write about stereotypes and the difficulty of relationships and everyday life. The setting he chooses is like any other love story; by a river on a sunny day. He chooses a female to take the lead role, which is where the criticizing and stereo typing comes into action. He describes the female ...
The Women
The women in the Tony Kytes story are very gullible and very stupid how they let Tony walk all over them but Maggie is a lot different as she stands up for herself and doesn’t take anything from anybody. She stands up to Rudy for taking advantage of her grandma by making the grandma feel stupid for saying such things as she did. But the women in the Tony Kytes story are very different in this way instead of saying no I will not get in the back under some tarpaulin in the back of the carriage they say sure and jump right under. And when Tony is telling that he only loves Hannah, when Milly is under the empty sacks she doesn’t get out and say how could she tries to keep quiet and obey what Tony told her to do. I have looked closely at the text and it tells me that all the girls in Tony Kytes the girls want something from Tony. But Maggie on the other hand leaves the decision of what Rudy wants to do intirely up to him, instead of saying she will do stuff for him or fluttering her looks. The times of the stories have a lot of impact on the actual story. In the olden days the women were very controlled by the men, where as now days it isn’t so much like that. You can tell that the women were very controlled by the way Tony treated them in Tony Kytes. But in seeing a beauty queen home Maggie thinks for herself and once she has that thought in mind she isn’t changing it for any man even if he is the best looking man in the world.
The Homework on Do Women Speak Differently Then Men?
Topic: From the literature on sociolinguistics and from your own observation of speech of men and women (in both same-sex and cross-sex conversations), do you believe women always speak a purer, more refined and more polite language than men? Language is used by both men and women to communicate, but do women talk differently from men? Is language comprehended and used differently by women and ...
Older Generations
The relationships vary between these two families in the way they talk to each other. Tony doesn’t just talk to his father he asks for advice and gets quite blunt straightforward remarks. But Maggie and her grandma talk in a different way in a more gentle way than Tony. And I think that Tony’s dad is quite annoyed with Tony because he has three women in the cart but if that had been Maggie’s grandma I don’t think she would of cared very much. Tony’s dad obviously cares who Tony gets around with maybe because he has fusion with one of the parents; you can tell this by the way he talks about Hannah Jolliver and her dad.
Comedy
I think the way the writer uses the comedy in the both of the stories is how the men act around women and their stupidity around women and in some cases their cockiness. In Tony Kytes story I think it is incredibly funny how he manages to get three girls in a carriage with him with out any of them saying anything to the women that is actually talking to Tony. In the seeing a beauty queen home I think one of the funniest parts of the story line is how Rudy only goes with this girl because of the reputation that she is a beauty queen. And he got all the way to her house in the poring rain for a cup of cocoa and nothing else because he is too clever for his own liking. I think that the writers weren’t trying to make it too funny just enough to keep you reading.
Conclusion
I think that Rudy, Tony and Unity and Hannah deserve what happens to them because the women are trying to take someone who is getting married and get him to go with them and Tony is just as bad because he does what they want him to do. And Rudy deserves it because he was taking the Mickey out of the Nan in his own little way and also uses Maggie because she is a beauty queen. The outcomes for the men is that they come straight back to where they started and for the women because they all get played like fools.
The Essay on Boned Woman Dee Family Maggie
The place where you hang your hat, where the heart is, is a link to the past, and through its door one walks into the future: home can be many things t one person. To many Georgians, home is the place where they come from, the place where the family line can be traced from memories and keepsakes. In "Everyday Use", Alice Walker explores the importance of home to a family of three women in Georgia. ...
