Dear Mr. Monet, I am very happy to be in correspondence with you. I consider you to be a great artist and I admire you. I am very sorry about your enforced emigration to London because of the Franco-Prussian War. France needs you and your wonderful style of painting. I want to become a good painter that is why I want to ask you some questions.
I hope that you will help me to achieve my goal by giving answers and wise counsels. I know that in childhood you liked to draw caricatures. Is it true that it was when you were five years old? It is interesting to know the reason of such deeds. Why did you draw them? Why did you choose caricatures, not portraits, for example? I like your unusual style of painting. Your pictures sometimes weird and sometimes open and clear. Do you have some special methods of painting? If yes, could you be so kind to tell me about them? It is really important for me. I trust I shall hear from you soon.
Sincerely yours, Name Dear Friend, Thank you for you positive letter. It is really hard times for me now. But I am very glad that people know about my works and like them. And I am happy that in France people remember about Claude Monet. It is really true that I started to draw caricatures at the age of five when I lived in Le Havre. I chose caricatures because I thought that I was able to show character, mood and internal atmosphere of the person in my picture.
The Essay on Andy Warhol’s Dracula Painting
Understanding the artwork of Andy Warhol is something akin to figuring out a Zen riddle. That is, and people will look for something extraordinary when all they need to do is understand the simplicity of what they are viewing. Andy Warhol’s concept of pop art involved taking the very common images in presenting them in such a way that the commonality was elevated. But can you really elevate ...
Moreover, it was funny both for the person whom I drew and for me. Speaking about my style of painting I should mention wonderful person Eugene Boudin whom I met at Le Havre in 1856. He played very important role in the development of my technique. Boudin encouraged me to paint outdoors. When you draw outdoors you can see natural beauty, real colours and shapes, you can feel the atmosphere. You pictures become alive.
That is why they can be both clear and open as well as strange and unpredictable. If you want to be a real painter I advise you : just try to feel those things which you want to draw. I hope that my answers will be useful for you. Best regards, Claude Monet Dear Mr. Monet, Thank you for your interesting answers. In future I will always follow your advises.

Speaking about education I want to stress the point that if you want to be a professional in any sphere you must get good education because it gives you extremely important basic knowledge. My works were exhibited for the first time at the Salon in 1865. That exhibition was successful. This fact influence me a lot. I painted in Sainte-Adresse and other localities and my pictures became increasingly impressive in use of bright colours. The first idea of a group exhibition was born in 1867 when Renoir and I were accepted by Bazille at his studio. Speaking about technique I can say that I started to think about it ten years ago. But only in 1869 Renoir and I worked out fully the formal techniques of the new Impressionist style in Bougival on the Seine. Thank you for you questions . I hope my answers will help you in future.
Best regards, Claude Monet.
