The motivation of employee always had been a central problem for the employers, managers or leaders. The employees who are unmotivated mostly spend little or no effort towards their jobs, they try to avoid their office or work place as much as they can, they try to get the chance or opportunity to exit the office or workplace or organization and the quality of work they produce is mostly low.
However, workers or employees who are motivated towards work are mostly put their effort in work, creative and productive, which lead to high quality of production or work. I started my job as a waiter in an Indian restaurant I didn’t had any experience of waiter at that time. They hired me and gave me training and motivated me that ‘nothing is difficult, you can do this’. On first week of my job I dropped drink on a customer and lost my confident but my employer motivated me by telling different kind of such experience he had in his past when he was new in this field.
He helped me gaining my confident back, and to take this mistake as a part of learning and not to lose confident. Just because of that motivation and support i am still working there and try my best for the restaurant. Even they are paying me less than other restaurant but sometimes employee need motivation and support not just money. Cooperative: I am pretty much cooperative and try to listen everyone problem and try to help them with their work but as I said some traits makes some negative effect on your personality. In my case people started to gain advantage of me and asking me to their jobs. Accepts what given: it is a very important trait in a eye of a employer because a employer don’t want any of his worker to say no to him. I accepted all my challenges and did whatever they asked me for, but the negative effect of this happened they started to ask everything to me and started give hard jobs and higher post jobs with no increase in pay.
Irresponsible: they way of your working tells weather you are serious about your job or carrier or not. In my case some of the seniors aren’t responsible about their work, which affects other staff too. For example in a restaurant if their job is to take customers order and they serve them late, then from the start the customer will get upset and other staff will also suffer. Blames Other : the main issue of the problem is when people starting to blame others, they will keep blaming each other and problem will remain as it was. Whenever I made any mistake I accepted it and made my name in good books of the owner.
Jealousy: jealousy is a kind of thing which can make a person or it can destroy a person, if you take jealousy in positive way that if that person can do than I can as well it will make you work, but if you take it as a negative factor then it will destroy you because you will get demotivated and instead of working hard will try to make problem for that person. The perception is a process in which a person observes, organize and interpret their sense to understand or to give meaning to the environment around him or her. Attribute theory: when a person observe behavior he determine whether its internal or external cause. There are three main factors of perception 1)Perceiver ( attitude, experience, interest, and motives) 2)Target (novelty, motions, sounds, size, background, proximity, similarity) 3)Situation (time, work setting, social situation) The perceiver thinking is strongly affected by its surrounding, expectations and experiences.
Attitude is the person body language or way of talking which varies from person to person, you may have different attitude towards different people because of your different past experiences with people around you. The interest of one person may not be interested or motive of other person which can also effect the perception of a human. The second most important thing is of giving tasks, a task which is easy for one cannot be easy for the other, for example if you ask a male and a female to lift a 20kg bag it may be easy for male but it will be difficult for female and it will be demotivating for her.
Incentives play most important part in affecting the employee perception. It can motivate the employee and in can increase the interest of worker in quality production. It may happen 2 employee of same position have different interest and motive, it can happen that one of them need money his interest will be in gaining commission while other may interested in getting famous by getting more sales both doing same job but interest and motives are different. Influence on perception: There are some of the factors which affected my perception in my work place.
Pay: it’s the main thing which affected my perception because I am working as a manager of the restaurant but the pay rate is same as the other new worker who has started as waiter. Attitude: some of the worker got jealous by my promotion and they started to blame me for different reasons and start doing the back biting which made me change the attitude towards the other workers. You cannot rely on anyone: the experience which I get from the my work environment that you cannot rely on anyone , whatever you want to do just be confident and do it by yourself it doesn’t matter you do good or bad.
