Biblical Errancy People for years have been debating against each other to prove the Bible to be inherent or to be errant. Errancy is a deviation from the truth or what is right. There are many different types of errors expressed throughout the Bible such as transnational errors, doctrinal errors and contradictions. How could any book be without error? That would be practically impossible, so in this paper I will prove the Bible to be very errant because of many facts shown. First, I am going to talk about one of the most important concepts in Christianity, original sin, which is the belief that all mankind has inherited a sinful nature brought about by Adam and Eve. In Romans 5: 12 it says, ” Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Which means that since Adam sinned everybody else who lives on this Earth has sinned, because of him.
Also, in Romans 5: 19 it states, “For as one man’s disobedience many were made sinners… ,” and in 1 Corinthians 15: 22 it says, “For as in Adam all die, … .” No reasoning can make an inherently unjust idea seem right. Punishing billions of people for the acts of one is not only inherently unfair; but also opposes other Bible verses such as: Deut. 24: 16 “The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers every man shall be put to death for his own sin.” That verse says that you won’t be punished for somebody else’s sin.

Also in Ezek. 18: 20 states, ” The soul that sinne th, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.” That verse also says that when you sin you will be the one punished, not somebody else for your sin. Original sin makes as much since as if I was sitting at home one evening and the police came over and arrested me because my aunt from Germany robbed a bank. Here is a very clear contradiction. This concerns whether God repents or not.
Num. 23: 19 ” God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent.” In 1 Sam. 15: 29 it says, ” And also the strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.” Both of those verses clearly state that God is not a man so he doesn’t repent, but the following verses are situations stating that God is repenting. Jonah 3: 10, “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto him; and he did it not.” Also in 1 Sam.
15: 35, .”.. and the Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.” Another contradiction that is worthy to note is whether or not God’s face has been seen. John 1: 18 ” No man hath seen God at any time… .” and, in 1 John 4: 12,” No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwell eth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” Those verses say that no man has ever or will ever see God, but the following verses say something quite different. Exod.
33: 11, ” And the Lord spoke unto Moses face to face, as a man speak eth unto his friend.” And in Deut. 5: 4 it states “The Lord talked with you face to face… .” Next to Jesus, probably no topic occupies the Christian mind more than salvation. We must do everything to be saved. We must obtain eternal life. That’s the Christian attitude.
The Essay on Life And Death God Man Earth
Although both the Ancient Egyptians and the Book of Genesis linked the creation of time with divinity, their relationship towards each other and the distinctions between the two differ. In Genesis God is the creator of time and stands apart from it. The Egyptians saw their gods as a part of eternity and the unending cycle of life and death. Ra was the God that first went through this process. He ...
The problem in this however, is that even if one were to say to a believer, ‘OK, I believe you; so what must I do to be saved,’ he still couldn’t get a good response. Why? Because the answer would depend upon which Bible verses were selected. Some scriptural passages say you are saved by works, others say you are saved by faith, others say your destiny has already been predetermined, and still others say it is decided by God like He simply looks down and picks those He wants. Salvation by works is clearly shown in Matthew 19: 16-19 where a man asked Jesus what he must do to have eternal life: Matt.
19: 16-18 ‘And, behold, one came and said unto him,” Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?” And he said unto him,” Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.” He saith unto him, “Which?” Jesus said, “Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.’ Clearly, according to Jesus salvation is awarded by works. Good works, good deeds and following the commandments are all that is necessary. Jesus said nothing about believing in anything.
Faith or belief isn’t even mentioned. Jesus did not say to him: You must believe in me- that I am the only begotten son of the living God. He did not say: You must be born again. He did not say: You must believe in the Bible. Only five of the Ten Commandments were listed, and ‘Love thy neighbor’ is not even a commandment. It’s actually found in Leviticus 19: 18.
Mark 10: 17-19 repeats the essential message of Matthew 19: 16-18, and also lists a commandment that doesn’t exist. Again, five of the Ten Commandments were omitted. Micah 6: 8 ‘… what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?’ All of them state one is saved by good works; none of them mentions anything associated with belief or faith. Good deeds alone are sufficient. Some verses contend your destiny has already been predetermined.
The Term Paper on Holy Spirit God Jesus Bible
Religion is a hard basis for some people to talk about. For me, quite simple, I just tell people about my Lord God. Some people argue that is an outrageous idea but no more outrageous than any other religion. In C christianity, you have to communicate and glorify the Lord whereas in other religions, you just simply refer to the "teachings." Many that do not believe in Christianity use pride, moral ...
It’s fixed. Acts 13: 48 ‘And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.’ and Ephesians 1: 4-5: Eph. 1: 4 ‘According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his.” Some passages say God selects people that He sees fit. Psalm 65: 4 is a good example. Ps. 65: 4, ‘Blessed is the man whom thou chooses t, and causes t to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts.’ And of course, there are those verses which Christians quote to prove one is saved by faith.
Acts 16: 30,” And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou halt be saved, and thy house.” All the above clearly shows that even if one were to surrender himself completely to Christian teachings, he still wouldn’t know what to do. If he is saved by works, then he had better commit good deeds. If he is saved by a Godly act of merciful selection, then he can only hope to be chosen. If he is saved by faith, then he must choose the correct beliefs, and if his destiny is predetermined, he should ignore the entire matter. It is interesting to note that although Paul often says one is saved by faith, Jesus clearly states you are saved by works. Another issue about salvation is whether you can lose your salvation or not.
In Romans 8: 38, 39 it says, “Neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” In Joshua 1: 5 it says, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” So if He will never leave you, even if you leave him He will always be with you even eternally, even if you fall away from him. Other verses state that the gifts of God are irrevocable, and salvation is a gift so, it can never be turned around. Another verse says, that nothing can snatch you out of God’s hand. Those verses support eternal security. Now the following verses say that you can lose your salvation.

Ex. 32: 32, 33, “Yet now, if, thou wilt, forgive their sin; and if not, Blot me, I pray thee, out of the book which thou hast written. And the Lord said unto Moses, “whoever has sinned against me, Him I will blot out of my book.” That verse says that God will blot you out of the book of life so therefore you lose your salvation. In 1 Chronicles 28: 9, “If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you leave him, He will cast you off forever.” That very clearly states you can lose your salvation. And 2 Timothy 2: 12, “If we endure, we shall also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” That also shows that salvation can be lost. Those are just a few of the errors shown throughout the Bible.
There are many more problems that can be found. From God’s face being seen to being unable to lose your salvation, this paper proves the Bible to be errant. This concludes the subject.
