It is often argued that students should not be allowed to listen to music during class time. Many will argue yes students shouldn’t be allowed however that’s not what most students agree with. Students believe that it should be allowed as it helps them focus more, the classrooms are a lot quieter in general and students on average got far more work done. From a student’s perspective, teachers should re consider their opinion. In spite of teachers not allowing music to be listened to during class, many students however will argue that this shouldn’t be the case.
Music helps students focus because it removes them from all possible distractions. This could be the loudness of a classroom or simply the people they sit with e. g. their friends or peers. At the same time the classrooms are also less noisy. This is because the students will be focused on their work and music and not talking so they would be making little to no noise. Students who listen to music also on average get more work done. Numerous students have said they prefer listening to music while studying because more work is done and there are little distractions.
This also is a good way for students to manage time because if they get more work done, then they’ll be able to participate in the things they enjoy. Consequently it seems better for students to be able to listen to music during class and study time. Yes teachers may not agree as some students will take advantage of it and not set complete task but the percentage of students who complete their work is far higher. Therefore students should be allowed to listen to music during class.
