CAHSEE Prep has been a difficult class to teach. It has been very challenging for many reasons. Despite these challenges, I have done many things well and can improve on many more. In order to make my performance better, I can divide the semester into easier chuncks of information as based on the CAHSEE Revolution Prep Test Guide and continue to choose information that the majority of students struggle to complete.
I can improve on dividing CAHSEE Prep into more manageable chuncks. If I do this my students will exceed more. Each section of the test (Math and English) is divided into five or six, subsections. I can teach my class in 11 mini units that focus on each one of these subsections. By having the students take the diagnostic earlier in the year, I can choose the topics that were more difficult for them and focus on those first, leaving the easier topics for later in the semester. In this way, I will be sure to cover all topics, especially the more important ones. By chuncking it up this way, I can then focus more time on the difficult themes and focus less on those that might just need reviewing as opposed to in depth analysis.
I taugt specific sections very well. The topics that I did focus on were covered in depth and consistantly. I gave students the opportunity to learn, practice individually, practice in partners, and practice as a class, each of the sections that I went into depth on. If I continue to do this, next year, my students will be much more successful. They will have the opportunity to practice and repractice all sorts of concepts and ideas. Also, since I have reviewed the information, I have a better idea of what concepts need to be covered earlier and more often. Practice makes perfect, and I have given plenty of time for practice.

In conclusion, I have done many things well and many things poorly. I can improve on everything and become an even better CAHSEE Prep teacher next year.
