The name of the book that I read was “The Witch of Blackbird Pond ” By, Elizabeth George Spe are. The book took place in the year of 1687. Some of the book takes place on a boat called the “Dolphin,” and then the rest of the book in Wethersfield, in the state of Connecticut. The main characters in the book are Katherine Tyler (her nickname was Kit), Nat Eaton, Uncle Matthew, Aunt Rachel, Hannah Tupper, Kit’s cousins Mercy, and Judith, Prudence, Hannah Tupper, John Holbrook, Goodwife Cruff and Goodman Cruff.
One of the problems in the beginning of the book is when she goes to her cousin’s house and was adapting to their way of life; for instance when she got there, they all did not have good clothes and she had really fancy clothes that they would have never worn in their life because they were too expensive. Another problem that she encountered was that she met a lady named Hannah Tupper that lived near Blackbird Pond and she was a Quaker. That’s why she was forced to live there, because no one liked her and she was also accused of being a witch. Kit made friends with her when she bumped into her in the meadow.
This jeopardized her life and that was a problem. She helped Prudence read and write and that was a little risky too. I mostly identify with the main character kit. I mostly identify with her because she likes to try new things and I like to try new things also. I also identify with her because she likes to explore new places, for instance when she was crying, she ran and ran till she couldn’t run anymore and then she found a new place and made a new friend.
The Tale of Captain BookBeard: An account of Book Piracy A bibliophilic stroll in the streets and lanes of Kolkata is bound to get across the cries of Captain BookBeard coming from the Sea of Poppies1, The Sea of Monsters2 and The Ship of Stars3, and as one starts to wonder about the whereabouts of this ever present, as almost in every pavementbookstalls, yet elusive pirate lord, a tale starts to ...
She was exploring new places in the new city she lives in. That’s why I think that I most identify with her. I think that Mercy would most likely be a close friend of mine because she has the same interests, because she liked to talk and she liked to be social just like me. Kit was the same way in the book just like me and that is another way that I identify with her the best we are almost the same in that way.
The thing that I liked most about the book was when Kit goes to the house and she had seven trunks filled with clothes. I liked this part because I think that it was kind of funny. It was funny to me because all the rest of the family was standing in awe, looking at her like she was weird or something because they all have a couple pairs of clothes and she comes and has a ton of clothes. I also liked this part because the father said, “Where are we going to put seven trunks filled with clothes;” he was kind of puzzled. Then he said something like “we will be the talk of the town,” like it was a bad thing to have so many trunks in your house or something. Then another part of the book was when she was letting her cousins look through the clothes and was trying them on and things like that and then their father Matthew came in and said “get those clothes off right now, I will not have you wear such things.” I thought it was funny so I liked that part of the book also.
It was most of the funny parts that I liked. Well, they weren’t really funny they were kind of strange because who would have seven trunks of clothes and who would care if they were trying on clothes and having fun, that’s why I think those parts were strange but I liked those parts. The thing that I didn’t like about the book was that they explained things with too much detail. That kind of confuses whom they are talking about or what they are talking about. Some parts of the book confused me, sometimes who was talking because they were explaining one thing for too long then just jumped into talking and didn’t say who was talking. The author of the book was trying to put too much detail to make the book good but it just wrecked some parts of the book, for instance when they got off the boat and were walking to the house they explained her feelings of the place too much.
In the story we see many themes regarding the role of women, the Ibo belief system and values. Here women are seen not as partners to share what one has but as property and extra hands to farm. The more wife’s a man has the higher his status and respect; they have no say and should do as they are told. They work the farm with the kids and maintain the house. They have a complex belief system; they ...
Also they explained some characters too much, like her two cousins. The parts of the book that needed more detail there wasn’t much like when she first met Hannah there should have been more details explaining the way she lived and why. That’s one thing that I did not like about the book. One more thing that I did not like about the book was they didn’t have a lot of problems happen to the main character. For instance, if that happened in real life there would have been a lot more things that would have happened to her. I mean she just moved to a new place more things would have happened to her, like things just worked out too well and nothing really bad happened except being accused of being a witch.
I think it was kind of a good book but not really because I also think that it was kind of boring because of the too much detail. There was too much detail to me that made me not like it. I didn’t like the way they talked, for instance too much old English for me because I don’t like those kinds of books. I don’t like those kinds of books because I can’t get into them very much. If I can’t get into a book than I think that it is just boring. Yes, I think I would recommend that book to someone, which likes to read books that take are based in the past.
I would recommend it to someone that likes to read books that take place in the past a very long time ago. Other than that it wasn’t too bad of a book and I wasn’t that bored but I was kind of bored with it.
