Public health in a Multicultural Environment MCHB or Maternal and child health bureau takes care of physical and mental health of citizens across the United States. Its main strategy is to eliminate disparities out of multi cultural society. It has created a five year strategic plan to take care of maternal and child health. It is well funded by DRTE so that it can implement its vision. For this purpose, NCCC developed an intensive module for it. This module is designed to assist the faculty in various capacities.
It is beneficial because according to census, 40% of US citizens will identify themselves as members of diverse ethnic groups. This module helps to teach the public health professionals to understand diverse ethnicities. As a result, it has taken specific factors into consideration. These are ecological model; community based participatory research and life course approach. Here it important to note down link between sociological factors and public health.
