Short Story In the city of New York there was a white teenage girl Susan living with her mother. She had her tongue pierced and her friends used to call her a little cracker head, because she was always having a withdrawn expression on her face. One time her mother asked little cracker head to visit her grandmother who lived in Queens, to make sure that shes alright. Old lady hasnt been in touch with Susans mother for a few days and it made her a bit nervous. Before Susan left, her mother told her to never talk to the strangers, because one can never know what is on their mind. Little cracker head promised her mom to be careful and to never become too friendly with the strangers. After being kissed good bye, Susan went straight to the bus depot, where she had to wait for half an hour before her bus would arrive. It wasnt even a few minutes before the big black guy approached her and asked if she could spare him some change. Susan did not have any change on her, but since this black guy looked very mean, she became very apologetic about not being able to help him out with the money.
She told him that she was on her way to visit her grandmother who lived only by herself. It seemed as if black man got really excited, after having heard about Susans grandmother. He asked for the address where she lived, saying that hed be able to tell little cracker head the shorter way to get there. After she gave him the address, black man mumbled something about being in rush and simply walked away from her. Susan thought to herself that this was a weird guy, but she was very happy to be left alone. She waited for the bus and by the time she got to Queens, Susan has completely forgotten about her conversation with a stranger.

She walked to her grandmothers house, while whistling some happy tune. Susan rang the door bell but there was no response. She tried it again and again, but it seemed like there was nobody in the house. Little cracker head knew this was impossible, since her grandmother always stayed at home, being unable to walk other than around the house. All of a sudden Susan heard some noise behind the door. What do you want? someone asked her without opening the door.
The voice seemed to be not of her grandmothers. But it was a long time since Susan talked to her grandma. Its me, your granddaughter answered little cracker head I came to visit you because we havent heard from you for a while. Im just fine, go home little girl the voice replied. Susan couldnt stop wondering why grandma didnt want to let her in and why her voice sounded so different. What happened to your voice? asked Susan. I mustve caught some cold followed the response.
But why dont you want to open the door? Susan kept on asking. Thats because I dont want you to get sick as well said grandma. Whose is the car that youve got in your driveway, Ive never seen it before asked Susan, becoming more and more suspicious. But this time there was no reply, the door suddenly opened and the same black man, she talked to at the bus station, grabbed her and pulled her right in. It couldve ended up very ugly, but fortunately enough a police officer was driving the car by the house at this moment. The officer saw a teenage resisting as she was being grabbed and pulled into the house.
He stopped the car, pulled out his gun and kicked the door in. There he saw a black man tightening Susan to the chair with a duct tape. There was also an old lady, tightened to the chair as well. Officer did not take a chance; he shot the monster in the back five times, after he failed to lay down on the floor with his hands up, as being ordered. It was only after they were being examined by the doctor, who found no life threatening injuries that Susan and her grandma could sit down at the table having some tea. Once again grandma reminded little cracker head that under no circumstances should she talk to the strangers on the street. This time Susan really did mean it when she promised that to her grandma..
The Essay on Grandma’s House
My favorite place to be when I was growing up was my Grandma’s House. Some of my most cherished memories of my childhood were created there. The minute I would walk in the door and see Grandma and Grandpa sitting in their matching brown corduroy recliners, any worries or problems would go from my mind. All that mattered from that point on was that I was at Grandma’s. Grandma’s house was located on ...
