To What Extent Should High School Students be allowed to Exercise Freedom of Speech While on Campus I think that nowadays to deal with an issue of students free speech rights is a tough problem for High School administrators. The matter is that students free speech is protected by the First Amendment. Thus it means that students are allowed to exercise free speech while on campus. But what should ...
Schools that are likely to use physical violence to punish their students are abusing the children that are different races and that have special disabilities. This is meaning that just by the color of your more prone to receive twice as many paddling’s. Using corporal punishment towards younger students is teaching them that violence is a way to solve problems. There also learning that violence is a way to solve problems. There also learning that violence is a way to solve problems. There also learning that violence is okay to use towards others. It also can give children a low self-esteem (Quaid).
When a teacher or a principal is always using violence towards students and that is all the child sees it becomes challenging to their minds that it is okay to hit someone when they are angry at a person. Majority of states have outlawed corporal punishment. But in the South it still remains in a lot of states Texas, Mississppi, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Florida, and Missouri. In these states paddling is common with black females were hit twice as often as white females. Also boys are three times likely to be paddled then girls. They even allow special education children to be more likely to be paddled (Quaid).
Corporal punishment is already a wrong thing to have in school but why should a child get hit more just because of their nationality or because their gender. If you are going to abuse a child then it should be because the student is misbehaving not because there a minority.
Corporal punishment should not be allowed to be in school or have a chance to be used in school. Corporal punishment could or could not improve order in schools or test scores. But is the abuse worth it? Abusing students at schools are teaching them how to become tougher, wiser and less trusting of people who are above them. This could be a good aspect. But not if you have to learn that because you’re constantly being punished for some bad desions or simple things that should not resort in hitting someone (Noonan).

If you’re constantly hitting a child because they have done something wrong then it will create some sort of order in the school and classroom. Some students will be so frighten to do anything wrong that they would just be obiendent. But that is not a good method schools should choose to improve students when there’s other ways. Using physical violence against children in school may or may not create order and improve test scores but its teaching children about humiliation and fear (Noonan).
When giving out paddling’s, licks, swats worth the humiliation of a child? When he or she see’s their classmates watching them get punished they are forever embarrassed and will always remember those types they felt that way. Which can be damaging to their mind as they get older? This is also a perpetuating cycle of a child abuse. And it shows children that it is okay to abuse a person smaller and weaker when they get upset (Noonan).
Children and even young adults watch what they see older people do or authorities. So if these people aren’t doing the right thing then children will grow up doing the same thing as them. Violence is not the answer to teach anyone when they cannot learn another way they could do certain things.
Corporal punishment should not be allowed in schools or have a choice to be used in school. Using this sort of violence is only causing students to commit suicide and become humiliated in front of their peers. Sometimes using corporal punishment the unthinkable can happen you can go far with the abuse and acciendently kill a student. And nothing a student has done can justify the death of a student (Devraj).
If someone told you that your child has died because they had bad behavior so a teacher or principle decided to punish them you would be in rage and think that is absorbed. So why do we still have corporal punishment in school? When there is different alterative to handle these situations. A severe beating of schoolchildren is absolutely unacceptable. If you are going to have corporal punishment in your school then some rules should be establish with what you can do to a child for punishment. Students’ dying because of a teacher is unacceptable. Some actions of physical violence should not be allowed. When a teacher made Laxmi a 13 year old had to clean a toilet for her teacher at her school. Caused her to hang herself because of humiliation. If the teacher did not force her to clean a toilet then she could still be here today. Physically punishing a kid is not worth taking a chance on death (Devraj).
Punishing some students with physical abuse can cause students to become very embarrassed to the point where they will take their own life. School is supposed to be a place you get your education and you learn valuable lessons. But it should not be how to deal with physical abuse in schools.

Corporal punishments could or could not improve order in schools or test scores. But is the abuse worth it? Using this sort of violence is only causing students to commit suicide and become humiliated in front of their peers. Corporal punishment has no place in the education of children. Also it perpetuates the cycle of abuse. Since children learn through adults and what they see doing, physical punishment gives the message that hitting is appropriate way to express feelings and solve problems. By sending your child to a school that contributes with corporal punishment you are harming your child and could lead to death and are putting them in a non-learning environment. Are you the type of person who will allow this to happen to your child?
