What is accomplishment? Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “You must do the thing you think you cannot do”. If everyone did only what was easy to achieve, nothing would ever truly be accomplished. Reaching beyond goals, out to what is thought to be impossible, is one of the greatest accomplishments, even if these goals are not successful in being achieved. In life, accomplishment is something that I strive for most because without it, my life would feel worthless. To begin with, accomplishment means something different to everyone. For me it means something similar to the feeling of making smooth powder turns down the mountain after a long day of hiking. It is the after reward that makes accomplishments feel so great. If there was no after reward I would have nothing to strive for or look forward to and the outcome would thus be having no motivation to achieve anything.
Furthermore, accomplishment is stress relieving. After reaching a goal, a shower of relief falls over me and lets me know that I attained my goal. The eustress pushing me to reach and succeed in a goal makes the achievement that much better when it is accomplished. Once I know that I succeeded at a goal I can relax and be proud of myself. Finally, my accomplishments work in a cycle. I start off by creating a goal. The goal then turns into an obsession that I wont stop working at until it is reached. Once the goal is attained, bigger more impressive goals form and I still do not stop until they are accomplished.
The Essay on What Goals I Plan to Accomplish Through a College Education
Succeeding through failure What is the true meaning of success? Life has its difficulties and everybody experiences success and failure. But what is success what do we categorize as a failure? “Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” Winston Churchill To most people, success means achieving a goal. What success means to me is being the best I can be. ...
The cycle will continue until even after the day I die when other people will look back and remember the accomplishments that I have made. In conclusion, accomplishment, in my opinion, is one of the most important things to strive for in life. Without it, nothing would be able to motivate me to get something done and likewise I would get nothing done. Accomplishment is reaching goals, and if nothing is done to try to reach them, I feel powerless and overwhelmed. If I get involved though, a sense of hope and accomplishment comes from knowing I have worked to achieve.
