My company, Recreate For You has been doing very well in our business . Currently, we have designed a widget called Woozy-Woo. It is a clone of the of the world renowned popular Widget. National brand widget. Our Woozy-Woo is less expensive, is readily available for the Internet or store sales and shows high sales. However, with all great things there are some drawbacks. There are some defects which has increased the cost of making them as well as delaying delivery of the Woozy-Woo.
It is now up to us as the CEO’s to come up with a design plan that will show the following: (1).
High job satisfaction (2).
Low turnover (3).
High productivity 4).
High quality work With a design plan it is hopeful that the drawbacks will be diminished and we will be able to surpass where we were in sales to beat the national known brand of the widget. We started our design plan by first looking at our departments which are four departments, which are Sales, Assembly, Technology, and Administration.
Each department is critical to the companies future and present sales. The one idea we do not want to consider is laying someone off. So, we the three CEO’s decided to first chose the top person from each department to be a major part in our design plan. Each person is chosen based on work attendance and work ethics. At our first meeting, we discussed the roles that the individuals would have as the reprehensive for his or her department. We also explained to them the problems we were experiencing and how these problems were affecting the company.
The Essay on Understanding By Design Framework Plan
UBD means Understanding by Design, an educational framework whose main objective is to promote quality teaching and learning and whose main goal is to develop enduring understandings that are transferable to life. UBD has, indeed, taken the country by storm. Everybody seems to be in the know. Teachers have attended UBD seminars conducted by educational entities, both public and private, but have ...
Because we were open with them as to the purpose and objectives we wanted to accomplish as a company, they were elated because they knew the problems and even had various ideas and suggestions to help bring the company back to its high status. Our department representatives suggested that for the beginning stages of improvement to first survey each department to see what each group felt was the problem(s) and also what were the needs to better the work environment.
Regardless of what people may say, if there is a strong and positive work environment, there are more likely to be better workers, productivity, and job satisfaction. It was decided to hold a general meeting with all the workers once we tabulated the surveys. With the surveys we were able to see what our employees thought and wanted to do as a team to get our company back to high status. It was decided to use the following techniques to help motivate all employees.
The first motivating technique offered was to any employee who wanted to move up in the company, we the company would pay for continuing education classes that would allow for promotion in the company. It was expressed through the feedback that many wanted higher positions but lacked certain skills or classes to move into a higher position. Knowing this we contacted five colleges which has a great reputation for their business majors and worked out classes and tuition for those wanting to go and get the necessary classes and credits for employment advancement (from employee-motivation-techniques. tml).
Another method to motivate all employees is to select through peer voting an employee each month from each department to recognize through the paper and also through our Internet site. The employee would also receive a fifty dollar gas card along with fifty dollar Wal Mart gift card. These two techniques put fire under the employees and it works well. To motivate the minimum wage employees we incorporated the afore mentioned techniques and added three more for them. We decided to set aside Tuesday’s as “People Day”.
The Term Paper on Latin America Managers Company Work
Marconi case shows us how many different aspects of managerial situation in a company must be considered and handled, whenever and changes in the company structure, relocation of the staff, entering foreign markets and all the problems connected with above occur. Sending the managers to another country cannot be just a simple one-task operation. It's a long lasting process that needs commitment ...
This day was a day in which each department was given the chance to air out their problems, be involved in discussions, and participate with other departments to see what they were doing to make their department run smoothly. It was a dress down day and this opened up many needed discussions and concerns that we were not aware off but now we could know the ups and downs and what we as CEO’s could do to make our company first. During these sessions on Dress Down Tuesday’s we made it a practice to do the following: (1).
First and foremost treat each person and idea with respect. 2).
Focused on the strengths of each individual so that they could if necessary be placed in roles where they were strongest. (3).
Spend quality time with the employees as a department. It was also an opportunity for individuals to meet with us one-on-one if they felt the need to and we made time for that also( The 3 Secrets of Team Motivation, Alan Fairweather, http://www. businessknowhow. com) The conclusion to this is when we incorporated the techniques of educational promotion incentives and peer recognition incentives this boosted our companies morale and productivity.
We were able to identify why we were having defective products. It was because one of the machines was defective itself and caused the problem of having defective parts. Once we were able to invest in the latest machine that we needed to make our product, our productivity increased with no defects and we were able to meet our time in getting out our Woozy-Woo. In this day in time, it is so very important that they, the companies today have a positive work environment throughout the entire company.
With employees that work in places where there is meaningful as well as challenging work, direct supporting feedback in a timely manner, along with an administration that is firm but compassionate, you will find high job satisfaction, low turnover (who wants leave when your environment cares about you and not just your work), high productivity, and high quality work from the employees. Everyone will not always agree but when there is an environment where you count and what you feel is counted that says a lot.
The Term Paper on Dayton Hudson Department Store Company Versus United Automobile Workers
In 1990, some employees at Hudson’s Department Store at the Westland Mall in Westland, Michigan, began an effort to organize and bring in the UAW. On May 11, 1990, an authorized ballot of eligible workers took place; 274 votes were cast for the union and 179 against. Hudson immediately filed timely objections with the NLRB, contending that the outcome of the election was tainted by a letter ...
