* According to the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety, 11 teens die every day in crashes caused by texting.
* Texting has become really popular these days instead of calling our friends we simply just grab our phones and send a text.
* By joining the No text on board Campaign you will help others to take the pledge
* No text is worth risking your life.
II. Problem
A. Statics show that one out of five drivers are surfing and texting while driving
B. In 2011 23% of auto collision involved cell phones
* Which is 1.3 million crashes
* 13% of drivers age 18-20 involved in car racks admitted to
Texting or talking on their mobiles devices at the time of the crash
– However, here are some of their justifications:
1. “Reading a text is safer than composing one and sending it.”
2. “Holding the phone near the windshield for better visibility “
3. “They increase the following distance so they wont hit the car
4. “They text only in red lights or stop signs.”
C. In addition, Driving and texting is also considered a multi-tasking skill that increases the productivity of the driver’s brain causing distractions to our cognitive functions, memory, visual fields, and manually.

III. Solution: Take the Pledge

However, we can stop this epidemic by taking the “No Board On Text” which the pledge means “ No text message, email, website or video is worth the risk OD endangering my life or the lives of others on the road. I pledge to never text and drive and will take action to educate others about the dangers of texting while driving”.
B. Many of you may wonder if you have to pay or donate in order to pledge, but as in matter of fact you don’t its completely free you can either sign up at AT&T website or you can actually go to there stores where they actually give you a sticker to put on your car that says “No Text On Board”.
C. I myself actually pledge and have the sticker in my car, because three months while I was barely learning how to drive I was texting while driving and was about to hit a car luckily I hit the brake in time. Since that day I never answer calls or text messages when I am driving.
D. I thought that I could actually multitask driving and texting but its impossible it only takes a few seconds to loose control of the steering wheel.
IV. A. The outcomes of taking this pledged you could educate other and help stop the epidemic of texting while driving. Not only that but also help prevent accident.
B. If you don’t plan to take the pledge and educate other people from texting and driving many lives will be lost just because of texting. If you guys think about it texting like driving intoxiced and driving.
