Beside my Peace Building, Conflict Resolution international Relations Academic study now in the US Currently I am an intern at Hands along the Nile Development Services, it is not-for-profit organization that is committed to building bridges between the people of Egypt and the US Located in Washington DC. One of my responsibilities is doing research on the ongoing conflict between Muslims and Christians in Egypt and participating and organizing peace building programs for young people of both sides
My potential peace building initiative is to do training workshops for primary school students(ages from 6-12) within my community My potential peace building initiative is to do training workshops for students between the ages 6-12 years old. I and other members of the Community Development Association (the NGO that I work for back home in Egypt) will carry out the initiative. We can use Storytelling as a community-building tool. We will help participants Discover how the experience of telling and being listened to creates a greater sense of trust and connection within our communities and across cultures.
We can also engage them practical activities that implement conflicts and ask them to find rational and logical solutions for it. My ways to apply what I learn from the training to my organization are through training workshops to prepare our community members to be peace builders. Through cooperation between our NGO and the Educational Management Unit in our community to do training workshops for the teachers (TOT programs) working in neighboring schools.
