The Hazards of Taking Children out to Eat. Outline: Dangers of fast food restaurants Dangers of family owned restaurants Conclusion (1) In recent years, many parents began to slowly realize that their practice of taking children out to eat actually represents a potential danger to kids well-being. It is not a secret that, according to recent sociological surveys, about 50% of elementary school children in America, can be diagnosed with obesity. Apart from various genetic factors, which correspond to children gaining an excessive weight and the fact that many of them pursue with unhealthy lifestyles, it also appears that the overwhelming majority of obese childrens parents do not think that there is anything wrong with their kids being taken to fast food restaurants to eat, on continuous basis. Yet, there is. It is a well-known fact that food in these restaurants is filled with trans fats, which is why many people who eat at McDonalds, often have a hard time while trying to get through restaurants door.
The sight of them swallowing enormous amounts of hamburgers and French fries becomes especially unbearable; when it appears that, they have also dragged their small children along, simply because of being too lazy to cook for these kids at home. The article Revealing Trans Fats, which can be found on the web site of U.S. Food and Drug Administration, leaves no doubt as to the fact that trans fats are dangerous: Trans fat, like saturated fat and dietary cholesterol, raises the LDL cholesterol that increases your risk for CHD (FDA).
The Essay on The Causes Why People Eat Junk Food
Why people do not stop eating junk food? ‘’Junk food A high-calorie food that is low in nutritional value.’’(Unknown). For better or for worse is now available all over the world. We see it almost everywhere, like when we go to the grocery, stores, Junk-Food restaurants, on television, etc. usually looking very tempting, appealing and desirable for people to buy it. Therefore, it appears that many youngsters, who begin having health problems, even before they finish school, should be thanking their own parents for making children with special needs out of them, because taking child to a restaurant to eat is so much easier than actually giving him a home-cooked meal. The article The Dangers Of Childhood Obesity, which is available on the web site of Gastric Bypass Facts, exposes a clear link between childrens obesity and a fast food: Answer to the question Does fast food result in childhood obesity? is most clearly Yes (GBF).
(2) However, it is not only the practice of taking children to fast food restaurant that poses clear and immediate danger.
Even the food in family owned restaurants often contain harmful chemical substances, especially if restaurants owner happens to be a Chinese, who sincerely believes that cooking the meat of cats and dogs is absolutely appropriate. According to health regulations, it is forbidden for the same vegetable oil to be reused for deep-frying for more that 10 times, for example. Yet, it is highly unlikely that Chinese cooks follow this regulation, especially that they often do not even know how to pronounce word oil in English. Therefore, allowing children to eat deep-fried meatballs in Chinese restaurant is the same as injecting pure cholesterol into their veins. There is also another danger, associated with parents bringing their kids along to restaurants for having a snack apparently, such practice prevents children from being subjected to eating discipline, when they would only be allowed to eat three times a day, in order to stay healthy. The continuous sensation of a slight hunger, on the part of children, as well as on the part of adults, is actually very therapeutic. Even as recent as fifty years ago, the majority of parents were well aware of the fact that providing their children with home-cooked meals, three times a day, would not only satisfy childrens hunger, but it would also train them not to indulge in overeating.

It is well understood that eating porridge for breakfast might not be quite as appealing to children as eating apple pie and ice cream at McDonalds. But this is what parents are for they primary function is to make their kids to do what is necessary, rather then allowing them to indulge in their strive for instant gratification. (3) In order to conclude this paper, we need to say that we are far from suggesting that the practice of taking kids out to eat is absolutely intolerable. There are many special occasions that call for dining at restaurant with children. Nevertheless, every responsible parent must be aware of dangers, associated with children getting their meals at places of public eating. If such practice, on the part of parents, becomes a habit, then there are good reasons to consider their young ones as being put at risk.
