Oh Mom, thought Billy, turning away from the stroller and wrapping himself around the package. The package exploded.” As you read that line you might be wondering what book it’s coming from. Well the book itself is excellent. I recommend you read it. It is called the Terrorist. This book by Caroline B. Cooney shows a new turn to Terrorism. It takes it from a child’s point of view. A child named Billy.
To start off the summery of this book let me tell you about the 2 main characters. First there is Billy. Although Billy is only in the book for a short time you as the reader learn to love him. He seems like the perfect son to keep you laughing and a fun, wonderful little brother. He is little with a young boyish look to him. His name is Billy Williams and he has a paper route. He lives in London England. His father’s job had to transfer him there. Now you might think if your parents all of a sudden told you that you had to pick up and move to an new Country you might be a little rude towards that certain place. No not Billy. He picks up and loves England. I mean a new place to explore, everything is good. Some people think Billy is a little weird. He collects bricks from certain places and makes list of everything you can think of. Another thing he does that you might find weird is that he gets people like his grandma to send him American junk food so he can sell it to his friends. Now that just seems weird to me but maybe they don’t have good junk food in England! Now it’s Laura’s turn. She is your normal older sister. She makes things out to be more than they ever are. You know the usual. She is the opposite from Billy. Billy just goes with the flow Laura tries everything to hard. She tries extremely hard to make friends, she does though. She also tries to fit in. Her and her brother go to this Academy for people from other countries. And they seem to have thoughts on Americans, such as we have no discipline, stuck-up, etc…. She is just a lonely teen looking for a place to fit in I guess.
The Essay on England People Famous Big
England England is a country, and I'm glad I came from it. There are lots of fun things you can do, and a lot of famous sites you can visit. Even though it is far away it really isn't that different from the US. In England the style of clothing is not much different from here. In the summer they wear shorts and short sleeve shirts. In the winter they wear pants and long sleeve shirts. Their ...
To start of in this book it’s an early morning in London. Billy is starting his paper route, admiring the way London is early in the morning. As he gets done with it he goes off to school. He has to take the subway to school. Or the tube as they call it. He is with his friends, and is excited because he has lots of sales lined up to sell his “American” junk food. As he gets off the tube his friends get far up ahead. Some man stops him and gives him a package and tells him his friend dropped it. Billy thanks him and walks ahead. He starts thinking that none of his friends were carrying a package and he looks. The way it was wrapped the tape. It’s all very foreign. Soon he realizes that it’s a bomb. He thinks about throwing it into the crowd of innocent people but he can’t. He looks at his side and there is a little baby carriage. Not even thinking he wraps himself around the package as it explodes.
Laura takes the bus to school and as she hops off it she hears people talking about a little boy getting killed by a terrorist bomb. Not even thinking she walks over to her friends. One of them is crying. They see her there and start saying that they are sorry. Laura just sat there stunned. It can’t be Billy she keeps thinking over and over. It can’t be him. Well it is him, and Laura goes home in shock as her mother cries.
Laura never gets over the shock of losing Billy. She decides it’s up to her to save him. So she starts trying to find his killer. She thinks everyone is it. She even loses a lot of her friends over it. Expect one of them. There is one girl who never really liked her because she is American but now she is talking to her more and she even invites her to a sleep over. The girl’s name is Jehran. Jehran was very rich. She lived with her brother in a huge house. She has guards outside her house all the time. Well Laura went to Jehran’s party and during it Jehran asked her if she could use her brother’s passport. Well to you and me that isn’t a big deal. But to her it was. Her brother had a husband picked out for her and he was 55. He needed a young wife and had had 3 already. When he was to get tired of her he would ” get rid” of her. A life no one would want. Well Jehran wanted to go to America and she needed Billy’s passport in order to do it. Well many people including Billy’s mom had said Jehran looked a lot like Billy. Well Laura and Jehran had it all planned out they would leave the same day a class trip was planned. Laura would take Jehran to New York City and then get on another plan right back to London. She would make up an excuse that she didn’t feel good as to why she was back so early. The day to go got nearer and nearer. Finally it came. Jehran and Laura were in a bathroom stall in the Airport as they cut Jehran’s hair to look like Billy’s. Finally they passed almost all immigration checks. Laura noticed that Jehran was extremely cool about the entire thing. While she was a nervous wreck. They headed to the gate when Laura decided she couldn’t go. She told Jehran she was going on by herself.

Jehran said ” No Laura you have to come! I didn’t go through all these weeks of planning so that you could back out now!” Laura knew that they hadn’t been planning this for weeks that Billy died weeks ago. It was then that she had finally found Billy’s killer.
At about that time Laura’s friends and her teacher busted through the door. They had been worried about her and had figured out what was happening. Turns out Jehran and her family had been suspects for a long time. Now she would get the punishment she deserved.
So there is the summary of the book Laura went on home and as her and her family were flying back to America she promised that she would never forget Billy. Never.
Maybe this book doesn’t sound good to you but I liked it. I give it * * * ? Stars out of * * * *. So that I guess in my opinion is pretty good. I think that the way they drag on about Laura finding Billy’s killer is a little boring. I like the way that the author makes it seem like you will never know who Billy’s killer is and then BAM! You find out who it is. And someone you don’t think! So I guess if you haven’t read this book to go out and get it. It good and it won’t be boring I swear!
