The destruction and deaths in the history of this world caused by war at some point could have been preventable. Since the beginning of history there has never been such a thing as a war that had to be fought because at some point there always a solution and many times that is overlooked resulting in unnecessary human suffering. During revolutionary times in Europe, the French Revolution could have been avoided. Both world wars could have been solved before the outbreak of war begun. The policy of a nation should be to search for any possible solution because war is no one’s favorite game to play.
In 1914, when Archduke Frans Ferdinand was assassinated by the Serbian Nationalist, Gavrilo Princips, Serbia had a chance to shape by meeting the demands of Austria-Hungary’s ultimatum. If the Serbian government would have agreed to the terms that would have cooled Europe off enough to end the first threats of war. Russia also had a shot to stop the war by not discontinuing their military mobilization. The little steps that nations don’t take have caused millions of lives to be lost and many countries to be reduced to ruins. The nations of the world do not like to get involved in wars, but also hesitate to do what could save millions. World War One could have been avoided and in hindsight Europe along with the west know that just meeting the political demands of Austria-Hungary, Germany could have put the breaks on The Great War from ever occurring.
World War Two at many times was preventable. A lot of nations had the opportunity to prevent a war, ranging from Munich to Hitler’s march into the Sudetenland. The issue in the Sudetenland very simply could have prevented the war because Hitler instructed his troops to retreat if they met any form of resistance, but the British and French didn’t put a single soldier to meet the Germans. Using five thousand troops in 1938 could have saved sixty two million lives. Again the nations caught in the middle of a pressure situation chose not to take the easy route and took the option of war. Not a solution that had to be thee solution, but one that seemed to a lot of politicians the “questionable only option” The consequences was over sixty million people died and all that had to happen to avoid that was for the world to make a little sacrifice.
The Essay on Cold War World Nations Nation
As we head toward the 21 st century, America will be the greatest influence to the rest of the world as being the only true superpower in the post-cold war era. It is the only country with the military, diplomatic, political and economic might to handle any type of conflict or misfortune that may arise. The misconception that because the cold war is over, America should relinquish some of its ...
The French Revolution could have been prevented by the current government making better economic and political decisions. French politicians could have stopped allowing leaders from borrowing money. Government leaders created a lot of debt that could not be paid back because France had no paper currency and all that happened was the price bread went up which made the people want to revolt even more. France could have made an attempt to shorten the gap between the poor and the rich. The reason why France was caught up in revolutions for years to come was that the French did not take notice of the situation to try to improve it, but just made the issue worse by continuing what brought France into crisis in the first place. Stubbornness again did not pay off and caused a lot of suffering in Europe which eventually coming to Napoleons defeat at Waterloo, then finally the Congress of Vienna which restored peace in Europe. Europe had been restored to it’s old self, but imagine if in 1789 peace talks took place instead of a war.
History has just seemed to repeat itself because of refusal to make the small steps and then millions of people die. Unfortunately politicians have preferred for their country to fight wars when there are solutions out there. Hindsight is twenty- twenty after the events take place, but when this world sees the solutions before hand then the wars will turn to seem impossible to prevent. When that happens humans will feel safer and governments will not just automatically turn to fight a large scale war resulting in mass loss of lives. The challenge to the world is when a situation arises while it’s small; take easy steps instead of waiting for the moment where things escalate into a bigger issue. The problem is the world is not up that challenge because history is going to repeats itself and every citizen regrets that to be true.
The Essay on French Government
