War in Iraq Picture this, you, in a 3 rd world country, no friends no family for thousands of miles, hungry, not feeling so well, tired, exhausted and being forced to fight thousands of people who want you out of there country? Fun? I wouldn’t think so… This is a reality for thousands of American Soldiers stationed in Iraq and maybe your reality if the draft is reinstated. Now, picture this. You ” re watching the news, they are calling out birthdays, oh they choose yours, but uh oh this is for a draft. You are now being shipped over to Iraq to fight with out choice. Easy as that.
But what are you fighting for? Freedom, safety, your country? Maybe… But the war is costing your home country 140 billion dollars so far and so far killed 1101 American Soldiers and we found no weapons of mass destruction or anything else that brought us to war in the 1 st place. So good luck… Yes the war in Iraq is costing our country over 140 billion, so far… Our state almost 5 billion dollars and our city 58.
5 million dollars! This is unfair. We could have fully funded global anti-hunger efforts for 5 years, fully funded world wide AIDS programs for 14 years, built 1, 300, 000 homes for the homeless, put 19, 000, 000 kids into preschool, gave 85, 000, 000 kids health insurance for a whole year or even gave out 7, 000, 000 4-year scholarships to students at public universities! Instead we are at war. With all that money we could of made this country so safe no one would fear terrorism. The American deficit reached below 400 billion dollars which as low as its been since the 40’s while Bush was in office attacking Iraq. Too much money on something so pointless. Pointless? Yes pointless.
The Term Paper on The Cold War Early Years
America emerged from World War II as the world’s strongest power and commenced a postwar economic boom that lasted for two decades. A bulging population migrated to the suburbs and sunbelt, leaving the cities increasingly to minorities and the poor. The end of WWII left the United States and the Soviet Union as the two dominant world powers, and they soon became locked in a “cold war” ...
Do you remember why we originally went to war with Iraq? Bush told us they had weapons of mass destruction. Do they? No. Why are we still there? I don’t know… do you? After searching Iraq for weapons and coming up empty handed George Bush decided he did not like Sad am Hussein and the world would be much safer with out him so he attacks. He did not even have the support of the European Union.
Opposing countries included France, Germany, Russia, Greece, Belgium and Belarus. He is now trying to make Iraq a democracy, like the American government, which is not a bad idea at all. There is just way too much opposition from Iraq, they obviously do not want it, let them have there dictatorship, it is not our problem. This is a useless war now. We do have to give credit to the many countries that helped us by sending in there own troops to Iraq. Mainly England, Italy and Poland who sent a combined total of almost 15, 000 troops to the 130, 000 America sent.
Unfortunately there are casualties. Casualties include over 1000 American deaths and 7722 wounded American’s in Iraq. What about the Iraqi people? Are they cooperating? Nope, so far around 15, 000 have been killed 30% of the deaths were civilians. This is not right for Bush to do. He should not be in Iraq killing that many people trying to change its form of government to a democracy. Okay what if he does? It will make Iraq a better place to live and put America in so much debt it will be horrible.
Terrorism will always exist, there is no stopping it regardless if we win this war or not. If we win it may be reduced but it’s not worth the cost of the war at all, not at all. Especially all the hardships American families must be going through at home, having there son (s) or daughter (s) fighting a war in Iraq with a good chance they might not be coming back. This war in unfair to the American people and unfair to the Iraqi people, nobody wants this, why is it still happening? Hopefully Bush will pull out of Iraq before the war gets any worse. He may decide to drop a few more billion into the war and re-instate the draft to get more soldiers over to Iraq, which will be very unfortunate to anyone from the ages, 18-25. I cannot imagine the conditions in Iraq being any where near good for the stationed soldiers or for the Iraqi people with all the constant fighting and disputing.

There has been too many deaths and way, way too much money spent on this pointless war. There is nothing worth fighting for, let them have there dictatorship and leave them alone it is not our problem. Bush needs to re-evaluate things and realize he messed up. We need to pull out of Iraq as soon as possible for the better of our country.
