Have you ever heard the saying, ?no two people are alike?? Well what if that statement was to be made false? Imagine you are walking down the street and you accidentally bump into some body and you look up to you realize that you are apologizing to yourself. How would you feel if you were looking at yourself with no mirror? If we leave it up to the government you could very well be put into that situation. Is cloning ethical or unethical? I believe that cloning is unethical and should be stopped. If there were supposed to be two of a person than their mother would have had twins. Cloning is like playing God and we all know that we can?t be God so why try to be something we are not? In a religious view not only is cloning unethical but morally wrong. In Psalms 33:4-11 God spoke all things into existence. Bill Clinton states in Voice of America, ?Reproductive cloning would be an insult to the dignity of human life that appropriate pertains to us as creatures on the image of God?. He made us in his image and had no intentions of us trying to make ourselves in our own image. Granted he did give us the gift of having children, but he did not want us to make ourselves by science.
A CNN poll recently did a poll saying: ? 89% of Americans felt that cloning human as being morally unacceptable ? 66% of Americans felt that cloning animal as being morally unacceptable ? 69% of Americans scared of the possibility of cloning humans ? 74% Americans believe that cloning human is against God?s will; 19% believe it is not(www.religioustolerance.org) Cloning destroys the uniqueness of an individual. Can you really imagine a society where everybody was the same? Not alone mention the overpopulation of this world. Cloning does not allow a person or animal develop it own identity in fact the clone would most like be expected to perform according to others expectations. Also if they were to try and clone a human exactly how many tries would it take? It took 277 tries to clone Dolly the sheep a human should not have to go under such circumstances. The experiment could very well hurt someone or even kill him or her. What scientist fail to realize is that Americans are not comfortable with such an experiment done to humans. Just when Americans be came shaky about the cloning, the latest news on cloning revealed reports of a cloned embryo when Richard Seed, a physicist in Chicago, announced his plans of cloning a human.

Bill Clinton immediately responded to this announcement from Seed on National Radio Broadcast saying, ?Personally, I believe that human cloning raises deep concerns, given our cherished concept of faith and humanity.? President Clinton disagreed with human cloning so much that he proposed and passed an anti-cloning bill, which does not allow federal funds to be used for human cloning. It was one thing to clone an animal but a human is a just to far. Other issues that have risen are will these clones have a chance to live a life. If humans can be cloned then that makes them property of the government like there were some type of machine. You could even look at it, as the clones being slaves they are property of the government just like slaves were property of slave masters. Although, the cloning issue has been a huge controversy in the media today, it has a big controversy between whether cloning is ethical or unethical. While most religious groups against cloning there are others like scientist who are strongly for cloning. On the other hand, scientist feel as if it is a breakthrough for science and medicine. However, I still believe that it is morally wrong and should be put to an end.

Twenty years from now, as you are walking around the square in Wilkes Barre, you pass someone who looks exactly like you. They have your same brown eyes, round face, light brown hair, short stature, and even the same dimples you possess. Can you imagine the shock and even fright that may accompany such a sighting? The world was bewildered when the news that an adult mammal was produced without any ...
Scientist need to realize that this could be the biggest mistake by cloning human beings. This entire cloning concept could be one big catastrophe leading to overpopulation and a society where everyone looks alike. Most Americans do not agree with the procedure and want it stopped. However, scientist have tried to explain that cloning would create someone who looked identical, but who personality and identity are different. Nevertheless, cloning does have its high points such as making more supplies and leasing the amount of animals used in experiments. Cloning can also produce organs an erase the whole concept of a waiting list. Fewer people would have to suffer from having bad organs. Libertarian?s Party believes that ?cloning is one of the most exciting and important scientific breakthroughs.? Cloning will also allow us to study more diseases and maybe even cures for such diseases. Doctor could stop making replacements or substitutes for certain parts of the body. Instead they could use the exact match for that patient. In addition, cloning can also alter aging effects on humans. You decrease the amount of growths such as tumors causing life expectancy to increase greatly. Heart attack victims can become a thing of the past it thought that healthy hearts could be cloned and put in where the bad heart was.
A person can stay healthy and no longer be sick seeing how now a person could remove those cells so a person could never be sick again. Perhaps the greatest part of human cloning is that a person can have a child. A woman who was once infertile can now be fertile. Why would a person want to be cloned? In www.globalchange.com they gave several reason why. For instance, to live forever, have deep personal needs, and those who just want to be here and enjoy life. Why have limits set on life if they can be broken? People see the opportunity to try and beat life then let them have it. Cloning can very well increase the life expectancy of a person. Organs can be created whether by man or animal to help cure illness or diseases. Even though, the use of cloning can be very beneficial I still believe it is wrong. Cloning is just another way of man trying to play God. It gives man to much power and I think it should not be allowed to continue. It may pay off in the future but for now I do not think it is good for Americans. It destroys our uniqueness and individuality. The outcome of cloning can be great one day but this society is not ready for such a great power. What if it was to fall into the wrong hands? A person could clone an entire army or even worse like I mentioned before overpopulation. This world is already crowded with two of everyone there will be less food and less places to house people. So let put cloning in a classified file and leave it alone. Man was made was made in God image not in the image of science.
