Why I selected The American College for my higher studies
My father always tells me, “Never stop learning. Qualify yourself no matter what. People may say money is not everything, but remember, it’s better to cry inside a Mercedes rather than to cry on a bicycle. ”. His motivation for higher studies was persistent ever since I finished my GCE ordinary level examination.
The American style of education is the best option for me. At the outset, it is very flexible. If at all I want to change my major half way, I can without any issue because of the two year associate degree program which is recognized and common to all majors. Also, because the American system of education is so unique, in that all students irrespective of their major, are given an opportunity to experience a few subjects in a variety of disciplines for the associates degree, which makes them a totally educated individual. Since I’m a person who loves to learn about new and different things, this provides me an opportunity to explore other subjects to widen my knowledge. After doing my background homework on the American style of education, I decided to keep at it.
I was looking for an institution based in Sri Lanka instead of travelling abroad but recognition was an issue. So after spending days looking for the perfect institution, a friend of mine suggested American College of Higher Education. Mainly, this institution is the only institution in Sri Lanka that is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools USA. American College is functioning as an International Center for Broward College in Florida, for more than 10 years, to offer American degrees which are recognized worldwide. Also, Broward College is well recognized for its dedication to international education programs and it is already linked up with seven institutions based overseas besides the American College in Sri Lanka. Broward is also now rated amongst the top associate degree providing colleges in Florida. To top it off, when I enroll at American College I’m simultaneously being registered at Broward College and I will be issued a Broward transcript and a Broward Degree. I would be receiving the same privileges as a student enrolled in USA and I can transfer to over 4000 universities in USA and Canada. As a result of the SACS commission, American College must maintain its standards to the best of their ability. If not SACS commission will cancel their approval. When considering recognition, American College is the only place for me.
The Essay on The American Dream And Education
What we call the American Dream, the founding fathers called the pursuit of happiness. The American Dream is built on the promise that individuals from all walks of life can find success and prosperity here. It shapes from our opinions, desires, interests, cultures, geographical locations, and religions. Some presume the dream of becoming an engineer, a medical doctor, an athlete, a politician, or ...
The quality of education was another aspect that I inquired about at the American College. Basically their staff is approved to lecture and provide instructions in the Broward Program by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Secondly, the staff is composed with lecturers holding a Master’s or Doctorial degrees from the UK, the USA, Canada and Sri Lanka. And also, students attending classes in Sri Lanka are taking the same US curriculum as students in Florida. Students have access to millions of books, journals, video clips and other resources at the Broward Learning Resource Center and also have access to 28 public university libraries found in Florida via internet. Also, they have over 500 majors to select form. I can choose subjects that actually interest me. Finally, I can get adapted to the American system of education before I actually transfer to America. It is somewhat difficult for a student who studied in a local school to grab at first, mainly the credit system which did not prevail in the local syllabus. Not to forget the fast track program American College offer. Although a normal American degree would usually take 4 years to complete, the fast track program allows the student to take up more credits and finish up their degree program in just 3 years. Considering these benefits, even though I am physically in Sri Lanka, it’s as if I am actually in Florida.
The Term Paper on Stress In College Students
College students all stress out about one situation/life generality or another. Some of these situations/life generalities are individuation, computer anxiety, ethnic and gender roles in student-athletes, and mathematics anxiety. Many fall behind higher education due to financial difficulties, given that as international students when we consider going abroad for studies, , it will cost a minimum of 50 lacks. Significantly, at American College, I will be saving over 50 percent of the cost that would normally cost me as they charge students the local fees. I will also get exemptions of over 20 credits for my local Advanced Level examination marks which will reduce more than 6 months’ work for me. Also importantly, if we wish, they provide us an easy payment scheme which is palatable for our parents. Not only that, if I maintain my education at its best, I will be entitled to scholarships ranging from US $ 4000 to US $ 32,000 per year. I would recommend American College to anyone who would want to get the maximum out of less expense. I know for a fact that studying at American college will put off a big financial burden off my parents.
Finally out of all the reason, the, main reason for me to select American College was the fact that I can extend my stay in Sri Lanka. If I was to go to USA as a freshman this year, I would not be able to concentrate on studies properly for a few months since my mind would still be at home, missing my parents watch. Conveniently, American College established a branch campus in Kandy which is close to my house and I can attend classes with ease. Now at American College I can become friends with other students who are planning to transfer to my university or universities close by. This will definitely save me homesickness, at least for a certain extent. Anyway it is wonderful to know that I can pursue an American degree at the comfort of my home country.
I am profoundly thankful to American College for the opportunity they are providing students. It is not only a degree they introduce us to, but a whole new life ahead of us. American College of Higher Education is without doubt, the wind beneath our wings.
