As you known, Ho Chi Minh city and Da lat city are both the well- known cities in Viet Nam. Each City has its own advantages and it is difficult to compare and contrast both the cities. After my speech, I hope that each people in our class will have the answer for that question: Where is the best place to live in.
First of all, I’m going to talk about economy. There are such differences of economic development between HCM and Da lat city. Some people say HCM city is larger than Da lat in economy. That is the reason they choose HCM city is the best place to live in.

In Vietnam, Dalat has long been a popular tourist city. Cool climate, natural resources and human wealth to help the city each year attracts millions of tourists to visit and vacation.
There are many famous destinations, such as Xuan Huong lake, Valley of Love, Than Tho lake, Bao Dai Palace I, II, III; railway station of Dalat. Since 2005, the city began to hold flower festival, a festival with several events to introduce local flowers, as well as from other regions.
In the second point, I will talk about climate. Both cities are type of tropical monsoon and it is divided in to two distinct seasons: rainy and dry seasons. The rainy season lasts from May to October or late November, and the dry season is from November to April.
However, because of topography, location of each city, there is quite a fundamental difference in climate.
Đà Lạt has nicknamed the “City of eternal spring”. The average temperature is 18°C – 25°C. The highest temperature in Đà Lạt was 27°C, and the lowest was 6.5°C. Its temperate climate also makes it ideal for agriculture. The average annual precipitation is 1,750mm.
Ho Chi Minh city has a tropical climate with an average humidity of 75%. The average rainfall is about 1,800 millimeters. The average temperature is 28 °C (82 °F), the highest temperature sometimes reaches 39 °C (102 °F) around noon in late April, while the lowest may fall below 16 °C (61 °F) in the early mornings of late December.

Ho Chi Minh City is now faced with large environmental problems. Not treated sewage poured directly into the river system is very popular. The vehicles, construction activity, production … also contribute to air pollution. Flooding in the city center is alarmingly high, occurring both in the dry season. This is an alarming situation.
Dalat is a small city with sparse population density. Therefore, It does not deal with enviromental issues. Located on the high elevations with green forests surround, the atmosphere is always fresh. In particular, Dalat has not industrial zones, while the agro-processing companies focus away from the city. Đà Lạt has many strict rules to protect the environment. That is why Dalat has kept the ideal living environment.
In conclusion, by comparing of economic, climate, living enviroment, as I have listed, we can see that the selection of the best places to live is relatively difficult. This depends on each person’s perspective. As a foreign visitor once said: Ho Chi Minh City is the best place to do business. But the best place to live is Dalat. ” I also choose to Dalat best place to live. How about you? Thank you for listening.
