Ethics Reflection
Ethics decides how an organization manages their business. The ethics of an organization are what characterize the values and beliefs of organizations. It is structure for which employees should use to determine what is right and wrong when it involves handle business for an organization. Ethical determinants are progressively an effect on the way organizations are managed, as organizations are criticized there is little, or no, social responsibility (Abdullah, 2013).
This develops issues for the stakeholders of organization, as the main purpose for the major of the stakeholders. In this paper will explain the role of ethics and social responsibility in strategic planning. It will also explain how Karen’s ethical perspective has evolved throughout the program.
Role of Ethics and Social Responsibility in Strategic Planning
strategic planning is the method of developing a mission statement, vision statement, and cross functional conclusions to guarantee organization’s accomplishments. The organization accomplishments are essential interest to the stakeholders, some considerations should be determined in the planning procedures. Organization started implementing ethics and social responsibility in their planning process because of the scandals that have happen over the years.The reason for ethic and social responsibility planning is to examine the importance of their customers, employees, shareholders, communities, and the ecology while planning their strategic plan.

Ethics essentially emulates trustworthy standards, which humanity characterizes about the actions of an organization or people that reflects a right or wrong. Ethics does guarantees that companies and organizations accomplish their missions, visions, goals, and objectives giving the organization foundation and guidance. Ethics assistance in confirming direction, which can help the organization, integrates into one acceptable bound, manage the behavior of the organization’s employees, and refrain activity away from the strategic path. Social responsibilities on the corporate level, it considers the concept that organizations or businesses have a responsibility to give society and the financial benefits of the stakeholders. Organizations believe that it is the objective to control enthusiasm through distant future profitability. Corporate Social Responsibility provides organizations the plan that, “there is a responsibility to aids society in common and the financial concern of stockholders” (Pearce, Robinson 2009).
Personal Ethical Perspective
From Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory assessments, result of Karen ethical perspective is classified as results that suggest that she works most effectively in an organization committed to individual trust and empowerment. Karen would like to work in an organization showing unification of ethics and performance integrity. Moral conflict between her beliefs and the organizational values can lead to disappointment, bitterness, and early burnout (University of Phoenix, 2013).
She understands there is strong correlation between employee’s performance and corporate success.
While working on my MBA degree my ethical values and beliefs have come more important to me. The courses that Karen has taken have given her a better understanding on how an organization and depth of the actions of a manager or an employee can have on each other in the team, and the organization. To reach the goals of the organization it is absolutely valuable that employee’s conviction must be parallel with the values of the organization or company. Knowing his or her own morels and beliefs aids an employee, primarily in administrative and top management positions, to put in a conscious effort to coordinate the two. When the values cannot work together that give a less than satisfying work environment which in turn would result in reduced productivity.

Unethical manner always ruins the accountability of an organization and could cause an increase in employee turnover and lose of profits. Organizations that do have ethical standards or believe in social responsibility generally fold ultimately as shareholders a leave the organization. Taking regard of an organization social responsibility and ethics at workplace during strategic planning is vital to the success of an organization. Scandals such as Tyco and Enron have made investors more cautious with the organization they invest in now. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act was put in place to decrease deceitful decisions made by employees. It has made ethics and social responsibility more important to the success of any organization.
