This is the phase where you identify all stakeholders and socialize the project for its approval.

Design phase is where we create Technical Design Document, detail system design document and prepare how to deliver the project with Testing Strategy.

Development phase is where we actually acquire and install new software and construct all requirements, create any backend database and any other system to support the requirements. Integration and Test phase is where we complete the full integration testing with the users with all scenarios covered and get all users approval including stakeholders. Training of the users will happen in this phase. Implementation phase is where the system will go to Production (go-Live) and resolve any problems that faced. Operations & maintenance phase is where we create operations manual document, post implementation process.

In the case study, they are not able to identify the all requirements and haven’t addressed issues raised by the users, haven’t identified a process to test the users, no scope management process in place, lack of communication of project progress to the management and hiding the details to the sponsor . All these activities mentioned in Ch. 7 haven’t been followed in implementation of this project. Below are the five indicators of project failure that manifest themselves in the case study as per Ch. 14 1) Lack of Belief in the project – not all users are confident in the project 2) Project Complexity – unable to estimate the project size.
The Term Paper on Applications Of Augmented Reality In Construction Project Phases
Construction is a game of uncertainties. Unforeseen circumstances pop up almost on a daily basis in a construction project. Being able to foresee them and to rectify the issues without a fatal effect defines the success of a project. Augmented reality helps in visualizing many of these unwanted errors which are hidden in the real world. This paper discusses the use of augmented reality in Planning ...
Failure to respect Uncertainty – Organization and leadership was not properly considered 4) Invisible Progress – Progress was not properly communicated 5) Initiative Undernourishment – Budget was not properly calculated In order to minimize the affect of lack of belief in the project, accept and welcome debate and invite bad news, reach out to these folks and demonstrate the project benefits and how can they be used for them. To avoid project complexity, I will convert the project into phases and work on each phase individually.
Additionally, first start on implementing small phase and make it success before next phases. Whenever the project sponsor moves or main leadership or organization changes, it’s always better to take time and revisit the project plan and work with new team to find the right solution. Invisible progress could be handled by having weekly status meetings, communication and monthly stakeholders meetings. Open communication with all risks and issues will help. Initiative undernourishment can be handled by have complete requirement analysis and then revisit the budget to make sure complete scope is calculated.
